Week 72

皆さん、こんにちは!
Oh my goodness its the Christmas Season! Life is so good. I'm so happy. I just love being a missionary. I wish I could capture all the good things from this week. Honestly, nothing too crazy happened, but I just felt the spirit so many times, and just was so grateful for everything around me.

Highlights,
We kind of a had a Thanksgiving here, we taught our 英会話 English students, how to make the hand cutouts, where you turn it into a Turkey and write down the things you're grateful for. Everyone was so excited it was awesome. It's so funny because Japanese people have a hard time thinking about what they're grateful for, so it was fun having everyone share theirs!

Zone conference! Always the best.
So many good things, it's like a mini general conference. But before we gave our trainings, me and a couple of missionaries sang, Joseph Smith's first prayer, to the tune, Come thou font.
I'm sure most of you are thinking, wait why were you singing? Trust me, I asked the same thing. But we sang it, and one of the verses we just hummed and someone recited the first version. We then ended the with the last verse and the spirit was SO strong, everyone was crying.
This sounds like a joke but my voice like literally sounded better than normal, the spirit has so many levels my goodness.

Sorry, random little story, but it was so cool.
Later in the week we traveled all the way into the mountains of 福知山、and I went on a comp exchange with my MTC companion, Upchurch 姉妹!This is the first time we've been together really our whole missions, so it was so fun to talk about everything, and just look back on our missions. But funny story, we were out in the middle of nowhere, walking, and I had to go to the bathroom so bad. There was this sweet old lady walking, and I asked her where the closest bathroom (お手洗い otearai) is but she thought I was saying お寺 otera, which means temple, which there happened to be one across the street. So she kept saying it was right there and pointing to it, it was so awkward.  Long story short, she actually let me use her bathroom, pretty sure that's against every Japanese courtesy rule, but I couldn't help it. ごめん

We had a lesson with a girl we met this week, and she wanted to do the photo booth with us. It changes your face to make you "more beautiful" but its definitely made for Japanese girls lol. We were dying, we looked so creepy, I didn't even save some of them, haha. But we had fun!

Okay again, CHRISTMAS!
Seriously, the best time to be a missionary. We have been going to all the members and our friends home to share a short Christmas message and its SO fun to hear everyone's testimony about their Savior, Jesus Christ.  One scripture we have been sharing is Alma 38:9,
"And now, my son (or daughter), I have told you this that ye may learn wisdom, that ye may learn of me that there is no other way or means whereby man can be saved, only in and through Christ. Behold, he is the life and the light of the world. Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness."
I'm so grateful for my Savior, he truly gives me light and truth in my life!

If you haven't already, PLEASE watch "The Christ Child" video that the church has made this year. It's so powerful and I couldn't help but cry seeing the Wiseman being overcome when he saw the Christ. I'm so grateful to have his name on my heart, and to teach about him every day!

Love you all, have a great week!
