Ellie's Mission in Japan: Week 51

Holy wow what a week! This was sooo great. I was (and am) so happy to be a missionary!

Some fun things from this week, I was inspired by my sister after skyping her while she was making a giant fortune teller. We were joking when I told her so should try making one of those, to use when I proselyte…..well turns out me and my comp actually did make one and it was the best thing ever! It basically was a quiz about families, that connected back to the gospel and family history. We were able to talk to quite a few people using it, some who had interest! And even if they didn't have an interest, it sure did make them laugh/smile when they saw us carrying around a giant fortune teller (I'll provide pictures). Haha As a missionary I've learned to just embrace everything and to try fun things, even if it's a little ridiculous!

Like I said this week I just felt so happy being a missionary. Me and my comp were just talking about how our calling is simply serving God's children, and looking for people that God needs us to uplift. In my prayers, I tried asking my Heavenly Father, who can I help today? Or whose prayer can I help answer for you?

Alma 37:36 "yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever."

I witnessed the Lord guiding me to those specific people. And just trying to love them as the Savior, was seriously so great. I know it's so simple but there is truly nothing better than serving others. Missionary or not, I know we can all be tools in the Lord's hands and uplift those around us!

When we had that mindset, we were able to connect with so many more people, members, our friends, those we visited, and those we met in the street! We were able to build some good relationships and find some people! God is so good.
