This week was full of ups and downs, but that's mission life. Haha, Everything is super crazy with the new curriculum, so that's been kind of a struggle. But there's no purpose in dwelling in the past, and there were plenty of good things this week, so I'll just talk about that. :) haha
Sunday- Sundays are always the best. The theme of sacrament was having faith in Jesus Christ, and that we can't have faith and doubt at the same time. I've heard that many times in my life, but it's never meant so much to me than it does right now. I was having some doubts about my abilities and the language. And I realized that I'm not going to get any better if I continue to doubt myself and not continue to strengthen my faith. It's harder than I thought it would be, but I know that I'm not alone and I can do anything through Jesus Christ.
For Relief Society Upchurch しまい and I taught on the importance of the Book of Mormon with personal conversion. As an opening activity, we had everyone turn to their favorite scripture and explain how that scripture has helped them. It ended up turning into this huge discussion and we never actually got to our lesson haha. But it was so great! The spirit was there for sure and it just testified that you really can learn so much from the BOM. Another cool thing that happened was, in our class, there was a sister who has to go home for 6 weeks. She was always so positive about it because she had faith but she was still struggling to know why. She hurt her foot and it miraculously healed, but sadly they had already canceled her flight to Japan. However, through our discussion, she was able to see one of the reasons why she needed to go home. I'm not exactly sure what Heavenly Father's plan is for her but it was awesome to see her find somewhat of an answer through our lesson. You really can learn anything through the Book of Mormon! Sunday was also the last day for the dai semi. They left for Japan that night, and it was so sad. I love all those sisters so much, and I know they'll be amazing!
Tuesday- We had an awesome devotional from Brent H. Nelson. He talked about how one of the Saviors patterns is one by one. (3rd Nephi 11:14, 17:21 Luke 15:4-7, 15:8-10) and how he each knows us individually and perfectly. He also talked about how conversion is a personal experience and how we must come to know for ourselves. It's kinda hard to describe everything he talked about, but I know that we can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. And they love us more than we can imagine!
Honorable mentions:
So for one of the classes, we were watching a video and in the video, they were saying a prayer. In the middle of it, I kinda zoned out because I was so tired. And then when they said amen in the video, I said "Amen" out loud, and for some reason, it was extremely loud and so my whole district just looked and me and started laughing. So that was fun
Also, I'm only here for 2 1/2 more weeks! That seems like a long time but after being here for 7 that's amazing haha, I've never been so excited and scared in my life. Haha
Anyway love you all!
